A BLESSED CHRISTMAS
Many people go through the end of year routine with high spirits, much feasting and, for some, there will be a touch of romance and nostalgia over other Christmas seasons gone by. There will no doubt be much real joy and fun at the family reunions celebrating another calendar close. But for how many of us will it be just that another year gone by, and time to relax before another year to go by. How long will this cycle go on before we ask; Hey what is all this about?
Christmas is a public holiday and a time for good cheer all over the world. But what is all this about? It is about father Christmas and snow falling and presents and brightly lit Christmas trees. Its about Chickens, goats and fruit giving up their lives for hungry gatherings. Yes that is true. That is what Christmas is, a time for making merry. That is what happens at the end of the year.
No, no, it is not just because it is the end of the year. Is it? Actually everyone recognizes this time of the year and business makes fortunes of the season, this year and next year and the year after that. At the first Christmas, Rome did roaring business too, when God gave the gift that unites the world in Christmas. Let this blessing of Christmas be the reason to rejoice this season. Have a blessed Christmas.
