TO BUILD A NATION

TO BUILD A NATION

You only need two things to build a nation; to fear God and to love your neighbor.

GO TO THE SEMINAR

GO TO THE SEMINAR

There are two ways to learn anything; the hard way and the easy way. You can learn them with regret or without regret. You can learn them yourself or you can go to the seminar. The choice is always yours.

I BOUGHT A CAR

I BOUGHT A CAR

My friend was so excited when she bought her first car. I rejoiced with her and told her that she now had the keys to the world. Two weeks later, I met her at the bus stop looking sad, ashamed and a little surprised to see me. When I asked about the car, she broke into tears. I was taken aback until I listened to her story...

"I am so disappointed. I was hoping the car would drive me all around town. I thought that I would be able to show off to all my friends and give people rides. And I really thought it would make a difference in my life, but it just sits there doing nothing".

Do you feel the same way about your college diploma, your job, your spouse, your family or whatever it is you thought would make you happy or rich? Do you really expect it to drive you everywhere you want? Are you disappointed that it doesn't?

I HAVE A HUNDRED CHILDREN

I HAVE A HUNDRED CHILDREN

When I think of my children, I think of people that depend on me. When I think of people who depend on me I think of pupils, parents and participants on my programs. I think of all the people I work with and work for. They depend on me to give them value for their time and money.  I think of all the people who read and hear my name, who make life decisions based on what I say. And now I realize that I owe them much, much more than they owe me. I feel the cry of a thousand children and the weight of one who has a heart but only two hands. However, I am glad I have realized this before judgment because I have already put in an appeal for mercy and forgiveness on that day. It will not only be about how I cared for my children, but whether I cared for all the people, God placed in my care.

HOW TO GET A CHARACTER DIPLOMA

To get a diploma takes an hour in an exam room; to get character takes a life of self-examination.

ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SUCCESS

ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SUCCESS

Be grateful for any success you achieve in life. It is hardly due to your efforts that everything turned out well for you. Your success is due to many factors far beyond your control. Paying school fees does not make a child learn. Neither does the child's own effort make them a success.  Learning is due to good health, a good night's sleep, a classroom, a teacher, a mother and father, weather, safety on the roads  and many more things that are far more important to their success, no matter how clever the child may be.

LITTLE KNOWLEDGE

Little knowledge is dangerous. Very little knowledge is very dangerous. A complete lack of knowledge is suicidal.

LIVE FOR SOMETHING

LIVE FOR SOMETHING

Crafting a vision, a common idea. Believing in that idea and living to see it fulfilled is a very powerful creative force. If you live for nothing. Nothing happens. If you live for something, it begins to take shape. If you can hold on to a dream long enough to wake up and make it a reality, you will achieve a purpose and a plan awesome to unfold. When all is told, you will be a hero, but more so, you will have achieved what many hope for but never find; purpose in life. There is no greater honor for which you will leave this world than to have lived for something.

IS YOURS A CAREER OR A CALLING

Yesterday I spoke to a CEO who makes a clear distinction between a career and a calling, and between a job and work. One of the reasons for his company's huge success it that staff identify with higher values and a deeper ethos than required for mere employment. Indeed "values" is much more than "religion". Religion only interprets values, but values are displayed in characteristic behavior.

If you are having challenges in your work perhaps you need to examine whether you simply have a job or whether you have a calling to work. If yours is just a job, this CEO advises that you return the work tools and leave peacefully before you are called to account for your attitude and (poor) performance.

In other words, a job is never about, "me and what I can get out of it" but rather it is about, "others and what I can do for them". The moment your feelings change from the latter to the former you have regressed from a calling into a career. A career is short term a calling is forever.

of LEADERSHIP & LAW

LEADERSHIP & LAW

It is no longer meaningful to talk about leadership as a general subject. It should be defined in terms of type, form, substance and purpose. Like the various forms of law, its benefits must be explicit and specific.

PERSIST: NO ONE CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE

PERSIST: NO ONE CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE

Persistence makes heroes of both cowards and those with courage. Persist no one will know the difference. It is victory that makes heroes.

TRANSFORM YOURSELF

TRANSFORM YOURSELF

Transformation is not a moment; it is a momentum. Something that had stopped is now moving. It is not a state of being it is a continuing pace. This is a hard thing to start up in an organization and all too easy to lose as a person. Most organizations have never really begun and only some people think about it. Most of us, believe it or not, are quite comfortable with what we are; otherwise, we would have done something about it a long time ago.
