Vote Hope Kenya

Ladies and Gentleman, Brothers and Sisters, Fellow Citizens,

Vote Hope Kenya, 2012

Let us take a moment and share a vision of hope. Anyone who seeks a vote to lead this great nation must answer the question of our past, our present and our common future. Where have we come from? Where are we now? and where are we going? To move forward, we must draw strength from our past, learn from the challenges of our present and call for wisdom from the future to create hope for tomorrow.

Kenya, by the grace of God, is the fruit of a dream. A dream of liberty; a dream of democracy. The blood, tears and bodies of our fathers and mothers, buried in the land on which we stand, give us hope for tomorrow. Our fathers dreamed of freedom. Our mothers dreamed of education. Today we live the dreams for which they died. Today, we dream of prosperity. It is our duty to make the dream come true.

When people submit themselves to a dream, they hide it in their hearts. Then, they get up and work for it, and live for it, and if need be, they die for it. When people submit to a dream, they trust their leaders with it. They trust their leaders to keep it safe and deliver it to the next generation.

But why speak of hope, and why not development? Because hope lives in the hearts of our people. People with hope, will develop what they need. People without hope, have no need to develop. Let us invest in the character of our people, rather than courts to fight crime.  Let us build roads to work, and work before we eat. And Let us empower the less fortunate among us to live a decent life.

Brothers & Sisters, two of us can make this dream come true. We need faithful men and women to bring up children, and pay taxes to keep our country running.  We need men and women to work on farms, in offices and at factories that keep our economy growing and politics on the payroll. We need men and women who fear God enough to submit to moral laws that make our country governable. To make this dream come true, these two people must vote from the heart.

Brothers & sisters, three of us have the power to make our dream come true. The entrepreneur working at home or working alone. The employee who puts food on the family table; and the employer who takes care of our natural resources. These three have the political will, economic power and social responsibility to make our dream come true. These three will lead our young people away from the poverty of ethnicity to the abundance of enterprise. But, enterprise is NOT about big business. It is the commitment of every citizen to earn an honest income, create wealth, and build a home for their family. Enterprise, my friends, is the power of a dream!

Finally, Brothers & Sisters, the people of Kenya touch lives in sports, business and homes all over the world. Our common future is certainly global, and not just local. Therefore, for the love of God, by the choice of two, and the unity of three, let us come together as one people, and vote for a dream that will bless the world for all time to come.

God Bless Kenya!
