Human Potential
GAIT is an English word that literally means the way you walk. The way you walk is unique. In fact take a good look at people walking down the street and you will see that no two people walk alike. It is just one of those amazing things about the human potential. No one has anybody else's and no one can claim not to have any. Your gait is actually an expression of your potential and an encryption of the unique value you bring to the world, a clue to the contribution you can make to the world. Some would say, they are the key to your destiny and the promise of what you can become.
GIFTS
Are physical, spiritual, mental or emotional qualities that you just have. You were born with them. You put in NO effort to receive them. You natural height is a fixed feature of your being. Doing something about your gifts may enhance them but will not necessarily improvement. A person may wear high-heeled shoes to enhance his or her height but that does not make them taller. Gifts do not need training, they need to be USED. If you do not use your gift, it will give you NO distinct advantage in life. Non-use of gifts is one of the most regrettable things in life. Gifts are not necessarily outstanding assets or ability, but they are natural QUALITIES you can use to your advantage. A tall fellow may be suited to play basketball, but courageous people are needed in the army.
ABILITY
Our normal human abilities are the most overlooked aspect of our potential. Yet 99% of the time we are using our normal abilities to get through the day Most people look for that special something that makes them unique and ignore the abilities that if developed will take them to that greatness that they seek. Abilities are all the functional faculties and abilities at our disposal. Legs can be used for walking, running or driving. The ability to think gives us tremendous opportunity to influence the world around us. Natural abilities give us incredible leverage in vocations, professions and every sort of human endeavour. All we have to do is develop our ability into capacity. My guess is that even if you do not have identifiable gifts of talents, you can excel beyond those who have them by simply doing the hard work of developing competence. You must master your abilities for them to give you a competent advantage in life. We can realize our full potential by mastering our natural abilities
INTERESTS
Many people will dismiss interests as non-essential aspect of their being or those things to which they will attach hobbies or extra curricula activities. They think their interests are of no consequence. A brief survey of high achievers with dismiss this notion completely. In every case – high achievers, achieve highly in what they are interested in. Your interests, however casual, must therefore never be dismissed. We all generally have different interest. The things we enjoy, we generally find time to do. The things we enjoy satisfy us. They are in fact excellent indicators of where you willingly harness your energies. Where you place your highest energies is also the place you are likely to have the highest impact and make the greatest contribution in life. If we give you work you are not interested in, then we would have to struggle with your lack of drive, lack of motivation, loss of concentration and poor personal discipline. Your full potential is more likely to be realized in your areas of interest.
TALENT
A talent is what you do naturally or easily that everyone else finds difficult or must put in significant effort to master. You can spot a talented athlete by his or her apparent effortless mastery of the game. Talent is always attached to an activity; drawing, cooking, walking, running, engineering…It is what you DO well rather than what you are. Your talent is attached to a purpose. You are a good mechanic, talented writer or basketball player (note that not all tall people are talented basketball players). Talent is not a quality, it can be lost if it is not used. It must be developed if it is to bring any benefit to the person and social returns to everyone else. I dare say there is a time, purpose and place for talent. Once that time passes, the talent may be meaningless. A person who could have been a great football player when 20 and does not make use of the opportunity will not be able to play in major leagues if he picks up the sport at 70 years, no matter how talented he is.
The Creator of Human Beings has invested such great potential in each human being that even if a person was to take advantage of just one of these elements it would take them a lifetime to exploit 1% of their potential. The fact that there are at least these four (natural) endowments in a single person, gives me the impression that the human being was made for eternity and not just one lifetime. The only way a person can exploit all the combinations of his or her potential is if they live forever.
